About Tree Elements

Tree Elements — A Forest-Rooted Sanctuary in Croatia

In Croatia’s emerald heart, near Slunj and the Korana River, stands Tree Elements, a place where forest, architecture, and philosophy coexist. This is not a typical resort—it’s a retreat for the senses. Here, light filters through leaves like poetry, and silence becomes the purest form of luxury.

Immersed in the Elements

Set within whispering woodlands near Rastoke, Tree Elements redefines what it means to stay close to nature. The retreat features three treehouses—Earth, Water, and Wind—each one inspired by its namesake element. Built from local timber and glass, these elevated spaces float among the branches, merging design with the forest’s rhythm.

Each 36-square-meter treehouse includes a 13-square-meter loft, full kitchen, bathroom, and a king-size bed that gazes out into the green. A pull-out sofa extends the experience for up to four guests. Every space opens to a wide terrace, where the air smells of pine and rain, and mornings arrive to birdsong instead of alarms.

At the center of the property is the Main House, also called Ether. It’s a gathering place for creativity, connection, and slow living. Guests can book it individually or together with the treehouses, turning the entire estate into a secluded haven for wellness retreats, small weddings, or intimate workshops. With five bedrooms and open communal spaces, the full property accommodates up to 18 guests comfortably.

Designed for Mindful Living

Tree Elements was created with a belief that travel should nourish the planet as much as the traveler. The entire property operates on eco-kind principles—passive cooling and heating systems, rainwater harvesting, low-flow fixtures, and a bio-septic system ensure a minimal footprint. Furniture and décor are made by local artisans, and organic produce from the on-site garden finds its way into each meal.

Sustainability here is more than a feature—it’s a lifestyle. The retreat supports local suppliers, promotes forest restoration, and embodies what regenerative travel should feel like: grounded, intentional, and authentic.

The Experience

At Tree Elements, luxury is defined by stillness. It’s found in the way light dances across woodgrain, or how a breeze fills the room like a slow exhale. Each treehouse carries its own elemental character:

  • Earth invites grounding, warmth, and quiet introspection.

  • Water flows with tranquility and renewal.

  • Wind breathes movement and openness into every corner.

Guests spend mornings walking forest paths, afternoons reading on sun-dappled decks, and evenings beneath constellations that spill across the Croatian sky. Workshops and private retreats often fill the Main House, where yoga mats replace screens and time moves at the pace of the heart.

Philosophy of Return

Tree Elements embodies a new generation of eco-conscious travel—a destination for those who seek connection rather than entertainment. Meals are unhurried, crafted from the land and the hands nearby. Interiors remain uncluttered, designed to amplify serenity instead of distraction.

This is a place that asks for presence, not performance. You don’t come here to escape your life—you come to remember it.

Every moment, from the quiet hum of the forest to the scent of cedar at dawn, invites you to return—to nature, to balance, and to yourself.

Why We Love It

At Atlas + Wild, we search for stays that move beyond the ordinary. Tree Elements represents everything we value: purposeful design, sustainability, and soulful immersion. It’s not a retreat built for show—it’s a living, breathing collaboration between humans and the natural world.

For travelers seeking a destination that heals instead of hurries, Tree Elements is Croatia’s quiet masterpiece—a sanctuary shaped by the elements themselves.
