About Sherry

Founder of Atlas + Wild | International Flight Attendant | Award-Winning Author | Adventure Elopement Photographer

For 26 years, Sherry Martin Peters has lived between time zones, building dreams from airplane tray tables while flying across the globe as an international flight attendant. She has touched down in more than 60 countries, watched sunrises over continents few can name, and witnessed firsthand a global shift—from mass tourism to meaningful, emotionally resonant travel experiences.

She is the founder of Atlas + Wild, a cinematic travel discovery platform built for modern travelers who crave intentional adventures, one-of-a-kind stays, and story-worthy escapes that linger long after the passport stamp fades.

A Life Built in Motion, A Vision Built on Meaning

As a Gen X traveler who speaks fluidly to Millennials and Gen Z, Sherry stands at the crossroads of generations who value experience over excess, story over status, and authenticity over algorithms. Her worldview has been shaped from jumpseats, quiet layovers, remote mountain towns, glacial lagoons, and conversations with travelers searching for something real.

Throughout her years as an international flight attendant, she has watched travel shift from sightseeing to soul-seeking. People are no longer just looking for places to visit—they’re chasing moments that feel grounding, cinematic, and emotionally alive.

She sees today’s traveler not as a tourist, but as a seeker.

Seeker of wonder. Of reflection. Of emotional reconnection.
Of slowed-down adventure that feels grounded, cinematic, alive.

From Elopement Stories to Experience-Driven Escapes

In 2024, Sherry’s award-winning book, ELOPE: A Modern Elopement Guide for the Free-Spirited and Adventurous, won the International Impact Award and positioned her as a voice in the experience-first wedding movement. The book reframed eloping not as running away, but as choosing intention—whether that meant exchanging vows on a mountaintop via helicopter drop, vanlifing through Australia, celebrating under the Northern Lights, or soaking in quiet hot springs between adventure-filled days.

But she quickly realized something bigger was unfolding.

Couples weren’t just reimagining weddings—they were reimagining travel.

They wanted glass igloos in Iceland, treehouses deep in the Pacific Northwest, desert camps under a Saharan moon, glacier domes in Switzerland, and off-grid cabins where Wi-Fi gives way to wonder.

They wanted experiences that made them feel.

And so, Atlas + Wild was born—a curated platform where every stay has a story, every listing feels like a whispered discovery, and every adventure is designed to evoke emotion, curiosity, and connection to place.

A Personal Ethos: Travel Should Feel Like a Story

Sherry lives in motion, grounded by purpose. She believes travel shouldn’t feel like checking a box on a list—it should feel like leaning deeper into a moment you don’t want to end. Whether she’s photographing couples on a windswept cliffside, writing at cruising altitude, or curating a new stay for Atlas + Wild, she is always guided by one philosophy:

Travel should be intentional.
It should feel like wonder.
It should read like a story you’ll tell for years.
